Increasing employment rates in Wales: the private sector perspective Thursday 1 March 10am-1pm EHRC offices, 3 Callaghan Square, Cardiff This half-day seminar, held in association with the Equality and Human Rights Commission, will explore the challenge of increasing employment rates in Wales. One of a series of three seminars, it will focus on understanding the private sector perspective on this key employment challenge. Other seminars in the series will target voluntary sector and policy audiences. In the ongoing debate on future employment policy, it is critical that voices from the private sector are heard. We therefore encourage your organisation to share your views on the nature of the challenge, the levers for change and the required next steps. Views presented at the conference will be used by EHRC Wales in its policy influencing role. The seminar will be introduced by Ann Beynon OBE, Equality and Human Rights Commissioner for Wales and Director of Wales for BT, and will be chaired by BBC Wales presenter David Williams. Panel members are Simon Harris, Director, Business in the Community; Employee Relations Officer, CBI; Alun Thomas, Head of Review, Examination and Policy, Older People’s Commission for Wales; Dr Melanie Jones, Swansea University. This is a free seminar but spaces are limited. RSVP to Emma Brennan (emmabrennan@iwa.org.uk, 029 2066 0820) by Friday 10 February. Please inform us in advance if you have any special requirements. The seminar venue is fully accessible and is fitted with a hearing loop system. Onsite parking is limited to those with limited mobility and must be booked in advance.
