Finance Wales is launching a new Wales Business Fund in late September to support and finance growing Welsh businesses. We have invited senior executives from Finance Wales to present to Wales in London members the objectives of this fund and its implication for new business development in Wales.
Wales Business Fund
Finance Wales is launching its newest fund, the £136 million Wales Business Fund. Backed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Welsh Government the fund is the successor to the Wales JEREMIE Fund which helped create or safeguard more than 11,000 jobs. Welsh SMEs can apply for debt and equity packages from £50,000 up to £2 million.
Finance Wales' CEO joined the company in April this year following a successful 20-year career in business, private equity and venture capital. Giles holds a law degree from the University of London and qualified as a Barrister in 1990. He is a member of the Bar Council of England and Wales.
Mike Owen is Finance Wales' Group Investment Director. He is responsible for the management of more than £700 million in funds. His teams structure debt, mezzanine and equity investments from £1,000 to £3 million per round. Mike has been with Finance Wales since 2002, previously working at Barclays for 16 years.
